Danielle Massey is a singer/songwriter in the Los Angeles area.
With influences like Robert Glasper, The Roots, India Aire and Lauren Hill,
She never ceases to create music that redefines the boundaries of life, beauty and music as we know it.
"I like to write music that heals. All my songs were written while battling a storm, and I feel that it is my duty to leave a piece of my heart behind for my fans"
Although music is her first love, Danielle first began her journey through writing.
"I miss the days when the greatest thing about a song, was the words.
I figure, If my fans are going to be singing my song, why not sing words that empower them.
I fell in love with the art of words at a very young age, and they have now become the only melody my heart sings to"
Known for her poetic flare,
Danielle Massey is sure to be a songwriter whose lyrics will set the standard for many others to come.
Danielle has been singing since the age of 7, and jokes that she was born with a mic in her throat.
She is the youngest in a musical family of 6, and says that being a musician is the norm for her family and that if there isn't someone playing some type of music in the house then you know there is something truly wrong.
She has written a various number of scripts, songs, poems, and screenplays and has repetitively performed her original songs at "The House of Blues", Hollywood, CA, all before the age of 18.
When asked what she plans to do in the future, Danielle humbly replies
"Everything. I try not to limit myself by just doing one thing, and I hope to spread my creativity to as many artistic fields as possible. As long as God continues to give me these talents, I will continue to use them in a positive way that inspires many generations to come"
Her self-produced album "Instrument", set to debut in 2012, is filled with many eccentric fusions of instruments, genres, and lyrics.
No matter what Danielle Massey is creating, we can all expect for it be work of art filled with passion, purpose, and love.
"I have always lived by the saying that it's not what your doing, it's why your doing it.
Everything I create comes from a place of love, and I truly think that is what connects my fans the most, the notion that I made something purely for the fact that they deserve the best, whether it's a song, script or a painting"
Danielle Massey is a star on the rise, and her skills and talents have gained her respect with the top dogs of this industry.
