I got a Jr drum set for my second birthday and the rest was history. I don’t know if you can even call it self taught because I’ve never not been able to play a set. Between 5-7 I played for sunlight Baptists kid choir (adults on occasion). Second and third grade I was the snare captain on the drill team at Longan Elementary, and had a home set throughout my whole school career. It’s a force that transcends time. I’ll be 28 and i purchased a kit after not having one for close to a decade and have the drive to harness my god given gift and use it as a vessel so I can connect and share with people thru music, something so universal and organic.
