Deep Cricket Night is an original band from Chicago that has crafted a distinct sound of melodic musicianship that is highlighted by songwriting with lyrical teeth. They mix indie, alt country, Americana, and dark folk into a sound and style all their own.

The above links will get you to what we are about sound and style wise. Our long-time violin player is moving out of state as of Feb. We are looking for an experienced violin player interested in joining a band that writes and performs original music together. Ability to sing back ups a definitely plus, it's a big part of what our current violinist does with us. Ability to play other instruments a bonus (particularly, keys or cello).
You would be joining a band that will start DIY recording its 5th album this March. We have two recording-practice spaces, one at Superior St. in Chicago (with a very affordable per-practice rent we all split) and a home studio in Evanston (no rent). We do play locally fairly frequently and are looking to play regionally again on a fairly frequent basis.
