ABOUT

21 year old male looking for people to jam with or a functioning band or people to start a band, would like to start a serious band if possible but I'd be down with having musical friends with any level of commitment, I don't know anyone up here. I can sing stuff that is pretty high and can head voice like prog and post hardcore high stuff i can also play guitar decently i would rate my electric skill between exceptional rhythm guitarist to crappy lead. I like a good deal of electric music and also some acoustic/folky stuff, and I like to play both. I have a pretty big range of genres I'm trying to play on the reg but I can fit to suit. My ideal electric band would be like a melodic post-rock outfit with legitimate lyrics(not stupid one-liners or breakup complaints) in which I sang or co-sang and played rhythm or bass or played a co-lead guitar.

Influences

Electric influences would be something like Circa, Mars Volta, Modest Mouse, Tool, Ted Leo; but I'm cool with having a library of songs that cover an expansive genre array. General influences include Bright Eyes(once again, not the girly heartthrob social media songs), of Montreal, La Dispute, Circa's first 2.5 albums, The Fall of Troy, Pianos Become the Teeth, any Conor Oberst band, Ted Leo, Chelsea Wolfe, Tool, Modest Mouse also some mathy influences like Giraffes? Giraffes! and the Fall of Troy instrumental parts. Wouldn't mind incorporating some early Modest Mouse indie kinda stuff, intertwining co-lead guitars and calm but expressive guitar parts. Not huge into screaming/metal though or like drop-c chuggy electric bleepy guitar stuff. The acoustic/indie side of my influences is like a mainly Bright Eyes-driven mix of Fleet Foxes kind of Americana folk stuff to like Chelsea Wolfe or Ted Leo or softish rock that concentrates on vocals but I like darker acoustic stuff.

EQUIPMENT

Right now I have a Tele and a decent amp with a lot of modeling distortion. On the acoustic side, I have a pretty nice six-string and a really nice 12 string. Also worth noting, I have a decent Yamaha keyboard, a small glockenspiel and an SM58
