ABOUT

As is true of many, I took up music (guitar)after I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.
At the time i didn't know the difference between a bass and a guitar.
I played in assorted bands through High School and soon realized that my strength was in laying down the foundation of the tune, and as such, bought my first Gibson EBO.( I shortly thereafter I migrated to a full scale (i.e. Fender) basses.
I spent my 20's on the road touring the big hotels circuit, for the most part.
I'm no longer traveling but still love to play, and do so every day, at home,or out .
I'm doing a small gig with a 3 piece in a nice Italian restaurant this Friday, 2/17/17, mostly 60's, 70's and some 80's covers which I can play in my sleep,
but with genuine enthusiasm.
My true genres,as is probably true for many bass players, is something more interesting structurally, with a strong groove and syncopated identity.
Some further elaboration follows in the "influence" section below.

Influences

As regards my primary influences, there are many.
For example,I love "Tower of Power ", Earth,Wind and Fire" is up there, ideally anything with hot horns and a funky groove. But I also truly enjoy and savor much of the pop stuff of the decades listed above, from Beatles and Stones, to Micheal jackson, Al Jarreau,Stevie Wonder, ALL Motown, much Brazilian stuff with a strong groove, and almost anything that might fall in between.

EQUIPMENT

I have numerous basses, 4, 5 and 6 string. My primary ones might be a Musicman Stingray 5, a couple of Fender Jazz basses , of course, couple of Carvins (4&5), and the list goes on, with nice guitars in the list as well.
