I’m Dustin Philipson.
I’m a seasoned veteran of the indie rock/punk rock/Metalcore scene.
25+ years experience
Prominent, former Bands I was in (you can find both on Spotify & Apple Music and/or etc. etc):
1. Don’t Shoot… I’m With God
• A pioneering, Post-Hardcore/Metalcore/Spazz Rock band I was in from 2000 to 2004
• I was the primary vocalist/lyricist
2. Softcore Villain:
• A Raucous Punk-y, Hard Rock band I helped start in Austin, TX
• I was in S.V. for over 3 years, [2015 to 2018] as Primary vocalist/lyricist.
• I’m on all their recorded output except their last EP
I’ve had the privilege to open for such excellent, influential bands as Norma Jean, Dave Brockie Experience (Oderus Urungus/ GWAR), Further Seems Forever etc
I’ve worked closely with world renowned music Producer Chris "Frenchie" Smith (Toadies, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Meat Puppets, The Darkness etc. etc.)
I'm a versatile singer and charismatic front man.
My vocal range can go from pretty vocals to brutal, death metal vocals with ease.
I come from a harder edged musical background but my influences are all over the place; I am not necessarily looking to lock into one particular genre. I am open to musical experimentation.
I would love to find a group of like minded, talented, driven musicians who are interested in getting into a committed band with the hopes of taking it to the next level (recording albums and releasing them, touring, etc.)
No drama and no hard drugs please.
