Dr. Velvet & Blackbird originally started out mostly as jams that they would simply feel from the heart. Some few years down the road, we find Adam now on guitar and Jason on drums. They paired up in the studio to create songs together in that same vein which varied in influence - One song would sound blues-inspired, another would bring funk to the table, still another would even sound almost modern rock... then you'd even find world music! It was decided to keep the original name 'Dr. Velvet & Blackbird' as a tribute to the memory of Adam's brother and guitarist Trent Walton, who, being a sort of legend in his own right, will always be Dr. Velvet.
