ABOUT

We are in the process of reforming the band. After rehearsing and gigging for eight months, some members of the band decided that they did not want to commit themselves to the time and work needed that we remaining members feel is necessary to advance to a higher level of professionalism and musical quality.

The two of us are now working and performing as a duo in small, quieter venues while we intend to work with like-minded musicians interested in building up a larger dance band to perform in larger, more boisterous venues--or one or two musicians interested in forming a trio or quartet to play in intermediate-sized venues. Our goal is to build a band of three to five musicians willing to rehearse at least twice a week and gig at least once a week.

Our tastes in music are eclectic, but we are not interested in metal, hip hop/rap, or punk. We like jazz and classical music but are more interested in playing amplified acoustic tunes that fall into the genres of folk, classic rock, folk rock, country rock, bluegrass, blues, and even reggae (although we have little experience with the latter). We're children of the 60s and early 70s who have continued to evolve musically throughout the decades. Overall, we like moving, gutsy music with a soul (or at least a sense of humor) and avoid the saccharine-sweet as well as the distorted, screeching, or offensive sound. When performing as a full band, we love nothing more than to get folks up out of their seats smiling and dancing.

One of us plays an amplified acoustic guitar (rhythm and lead), plays harmonica (both blues harp and straight harmonica), and sings. One of us plays electric bass guitar and sings. Both of us have been playing and singing since we were children. We are not full-time professional musicians but have had some significant experience performing in various venues during our lives. We enjoy working hard to improve our sound. We have a hell of a good time when performing and sharing our music with others.

We seek like-minded, progressive people who play instruments that will complement our sound, such as keyboards, drums, banjo, mandolin, violin/fiddle, cello, saxophone, etc., and perhaps one or more other instruments. It would be great if this person also sang and brought his or her own songs that would fit into the eclectic mix of music we enjoy playing and performing. A drummer who could play other percussion instruments on some tunes would be a big plus, as would being able to sing.

We are mature adults, all in our fifties, working at professional jobs or retired. We seek other musicians who enjoy playing and getting folks to dance to an eclectic mix of good, fun music. If you live in the area (in or not too far from Sierra Vista), like what your read here, and can make a commitment to rehearse twice a week and, when the opportunity arises, gig as much as once a week, we would love to hear from you.
