LA MUSICA
LA musica carries touches of michael jackson, of bluegrass, of the delivery of the
sacred songs, of the chapel style...falsetto, tenor, and baritone and clicks and beats
and throat sounds. A quick rhythmic uptic keeping tension along the refrain, the outside
of the form, and the tempo, clean, on the attacks changing and on the escapes folding.
An escapade on the streets and through our very hearts.
This is a kid from Oakland for the tempo, the use of rounds, the rhyming. Also, the
French influence is a french quebecois, lending itself, easily, to a very similar sort
of delivery. Although speaking cosmopolitan French, finding it convenient to slip into
the spitfire revolver shot of the quartier specific intimate version of French.
No script, live and developing. We may take a single leitmotif and run with it, but only
so far before we TORK it and do something subtle.
All working must so do live, have an appreciation for a yield forming a goal and a way
of living guaranteed thereto.

"Good King Wenceslas last looked out on the feast of Stephen, when the snow lay round
about, deep and crisp and even".
Is an old song I learned years ago. Now, in this new version, we take one of the key
lines to this vocal piece and we play it out according to a modern air and movement and
we sing it with great longing. In the present recorded version, we have, in the real
time moment of the spectacle, improvised lines going well with the whole. Cormac comes
in, on the recorded version, with a little tongue click clock light beat.
[The Water is Wide]
"The water is wide, I can not get o'er, and neither have I wings to fly". The original
is old and is slow moving. Though, while walking from my morning homeless camp, in Chico
in California, to the Jesus Center to eat morning breakfast, while still dark, while
walking, I recorded the general air of this new rhythm. We rendered a version of this
live to much good effect, applause, and intense audience participation. Afterwards, many
handshakes.
[We'd like it to Rain]
Came about in 2013 in live session with Brother Hypnotic, he giving a solid flowing
backbeat and Laszlo in the forward raining down lyrics in French and English.
We unite to jam live in a live venue, UNSCRIPTED. And, we record. Then, all parties
receive contribution of the music therefrom recorded and free, further, to go forward
and to this distribute at will, providing but that the names of the artists herein
involved are so duly named, and this be the only condition of the transaction.
