25 years+ experience in local bands, and close to 1,000 gigs played, looking for new opportunities. Well versed in both original and cover projects - everything from ska to classic rock to Top 40. I am meticulous when in a project - charting each song, getting tempos as close as possible, using a click live most of the time, and being reliable with practices and shows. My 42 years of playing music includes a B.A. from the University of Northern Colorado in percussion.

Based on my experience, age, and time commitment restrictions due to having younger children, I'm not really into bands just forming at the moment. I'd prefer to jump into a project that is already up an running. In fact I'm looking for that kind of thing more than anything else. Particularly one in which the marketing/gig hunting is handled by someone else, as I've been burned several times in that area and am tired of the runaround. I've played everything from bars (too many to mention) to weddings to corporate events to small theaters. If your band has anywhere from a medium to large following, I'm confident I can get up to speed quickly to move your project forward.

If you have a decent following in originals and the music is good, I can definitely take a look. As for covers, I really try to avoid bands that play the same ubiquitous, tired, overplayed BS that EVERY other band tends to do. Why? Quite simple - those songs are boring to play BECAUSE they are easy. I love to be challenged as a player, for that is how one becomes a better musician. Yes of course I don't want an audience to be baffled by songs that no one knows and I have played many of the "usual suspects", just not a full night of them.

I play top flight drums and cymbals. The demo posted here is everything from a raspy smart phone recording to some noodling I recorded at home with an extremely simple mixer and Microsoft Surface running Audacity - flat EQ, no processing, only a tiny bit of reverb.
