Hi, my name is Jeff, I live in Iowa City, IA, and I'm 21 years old. I have been seriously practicing music for the last 5 years, but I have been involved with music most of my life. I played a variety of brass instruments in school (tuba, baritone, trombone, etc) and I also first started learning guitar when I was about 10 or 11. I started seriously playing and practicing a few years ago, but over the last 3 years or so I have been studying music production and recording, and I personally have been focusing on making my own hip-hop and funk inspired, vinyl sample based, glitchy, electronic dance music. Ultimately I would love to make alternative funky dance music in a full band set up (much like Pretty Lights' Analog Future band.) I would say my main instrument is the keys. I'm not a trained pianist, but I can play a pretty good melody or solo on the keys. My favorite instrument is my MiniMoog Voyager Performer Edition. Its one of the best analog synthesizers out there, and it has opened up my sonic possibilities infinitely. Anyways, I am mainly looking for a drummer, but would love to work with other instrumentalists as well! I really want a drummer because I would love to "DJ" my productions using Ableton Live to clip launch samples and loops, as well as MIDI clips that get sent to my Moog, which then would allow me to "freestyle analog." Basically having the MIDI clips playing the notes for me as I make synth patches and morph those sounds on the spot. Its very up and coming and experimental, but I would love to have a drummer help me basically because I think drum loops are stale. Also the feeling of collaboration makes music that much better!
