Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Upright bass.ABOUT
Accomplished Flat-picker (Left Handed) looking to hook up w/some good folks to play/share similar musical interests (i.e. fiddle tunes, folk, blues, instrumental/traditional tunes, blues etc....). Also interested in performing, coordinating gigs, & helping out bands that need an permanent (and/or) fill-in acoustic lead and/or rhythm player.
I come from a very large musical family. We all cut our teeth on the piano and as kids, we were part of the NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs) where we competed annually. My older brother went on to become concern pianist but I was the only sibling (out of 7 siblings) that actually won a trophy competing at the time = bragging rights:->:->).
After 6 years of playing piano, I quit at the age of 12 however gained a very deep knowledge on the classical rock genre through my teen years.....one of the perks of having 4 older siblings. At the age of 21, I started playing acoustic guitar under the wing of a professional Bluegrass guitar player. I saved up enough $$ to buy a Martin (& a Taylor shortly thereafter). I listened to & attended a lot of Grateful Dead concerts & formed a Bluegrass Band with my brothers in my 20's. We played at parties & local pubs on & off.
The past few years, I dove deep into music theory which has really helped with my improvising making me the player I am today.
