Fred "Truck Stop" Tripp is one of the most experienced and respected drummers in the area and throughout the blues media. He has long been known for his direct approach to his instrument and the "heavy groove" style. Fred has traveled coast to coast and throughout Europe playing drums, and has toured and recorded with Austin, Texas-based "Omar and the Howlers." He has also played, shared the stage with, and opened up for many of the blues legends including: Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Carl Perkins, Taj Mahal, James Cotton, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball w/Kinky Friedman, Ronnie Earl, Lucky Peterson, George Frayne (Commander Cody), Arlo Guthrie, Rick Welter ( Charlie Musselwhite's guitarist), and George Boone. Fred has performed at the Dallas Palladium, Palace Theatre, Armadillo, Austin Opery House, Lone Star Cafe in Texas as well as the legendary club Tipitina's in New Orleans, Brother's Music Hall, Columbia Station, and Rosa's, just to name a few. He also performed and recorded with bands on the CBS, Paramount, Decca, Mercury, Buddha, and Big Leg Record labels.
