Raised listening to Bluegrass music. Lived 10 miles from Bill Monroe's hometown. Went every year to Rosine for his spring picnic. Had my picture taken with him as each year he showed me some new licks on my mandolin. I'm one of two locals that are allowed to play his mandolin during the events at the old home place. The foundation allows only people that can show proof that Bill allowed them to play his mandolin to play it each year. Rest of the time it's either in the bank safe or at the Bluegrass museum.
