ABOUT

Hi! I'm a vocalist/singer-songwriter considering a new project which would include me, a guitarist, bassist, and a drummer. I have plenty of giging experience as well as familiarity with guitar. My email is jacob.warren2017 at g mail or text at 2 1 6 Eight Two Zero 5 8 9 4

I've spent most of my life dedicated to music. I found love for singing early on while taking part in an elementary school choir. I continued to surprise many with a strong vocal ability, hidden behind a shy smile and long blonde hair, until the end of my high school career. When I wasn’t focusing on studies in high school and college, I often spent my time thinking and reflecting on the world around me. This lead to my up-front, honest, and emotional lyrical writings. People have told me that my writings can describe how they feel when they can’t do so themselves. I pride myself on this, in hopes that I could one day touch the hearts of many doing what I love. Whether it be dark, angry, and unforgiving, or uplifting and inspiring, I always finds a way to capture pure emotion through metaphors and rhymes.

Influences

I grew up idolizing frontmen like Robert Plant and Layne Staley, since my father’s favorite band is Led Zeppelin and my mother’s is Alice in Chains. However, I consider my biggest influence to be Brent Smith of Shinedown. Smith credits soul and blues artists like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke as major influences, in which I inherited from my idolization. Chris Cornell, Adam Gontier and Shaun Morgan, as well other grunge/post-grunge vocalists, ascribe to my singing and writing styles as well. Although the 90's and Early 2000's rock is my primary reference, I try to stay as well rounded as possible. For which I draw influences from Ozzy Osbourne's Black Sabbath days all the way to the absolute extreme counterpart of Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.

EQUIPMENT

Finally, I sing through a Shure Super 55 Limited Edition Black Retro Microphone, which I run through a Boss VE-20 Vocal Processor. I also occasionally play acoustic guitar. I use an Art and Lutherie Legacy Denim Blue Q-Discrete acoustic guitar, a custom pearl white Mitchell 0120CEWPM or a Laurel Canyon LA-100 acoustic guitar, equipped with a Fishman NeoBuster Humbucking Soundhole Pickup. Not to forget, I also use an Epiphone G-400. All being played through a Vox VT100X 100-watt combo amplifier.
