Lead vocalist wanted for teen cover band. Female or male, it doesn't matter, as long as you are thoroughly interested in this type of music and have the vocal skills, range, stage presence, and "edge". Band developed at Dave Janssen's Music School and has played live at places like the Sagebrush in Calabasas, the Arena in Simi, Relay for Life in Moorpark, Simi Valley Days Carnival, and is looking to gig at other venues and events in the area. Age range is 12-16yrs old. Current line-up is bass, drums, and two lead guitar players, and we are looking for a lead singer 14-19yrs old with the vocal range, experience, and stage presence to ROCK '80s metal/hard rock songs by artists like : Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Ozzy, Bon Jovi, White Lion, Metallica, Police, Rush, Paramore, Foo Fighters, etc. The band is looking to expand the playlist with tunes from that genre, and they are starting to develop their own original songs. Make no mistake, these kids can ROCK and play better than many adult bands. They have had previous female lead singers but the girls were never really genuinely interested in the genre they were playing (they were more into acoustic pop/eclectic/singer-songwriter stuff). The band has even had a "fill-in" adult male vocalist for a couple gigs.
It's pretty unique for kids this age to play songs from this genre and era, and play them well, so we're hoping to find that "unique" vocalist with the same interest who can fill the void. With the right singer in place they are ready to gig out and write original material.
