ABOUT

Jamie Eads has been a drummer since 1989. A native of Central, Kentucky, Jamie caught the music bug at an early age. His first passion was listening to every minute detail of his favorite albums, especially the drummers. The primitive and hypnotic rhythms of his rock and roll heroes was hard to resist. After witnessing Tommy Lee flying upside down during an extended drum solo on Motley Crue’s 1988 Girls, Girls, Girls tour, Jamie found his ultimate musical calling and immediately wanted to bash away on his own. Luckily, his mother was sympathetic and purchased his first drum set a year later.

After many hours in a hot garage jamming along with recordings by Tommy Lee, Peter Criss, John Bonham, Alex Van Halen, and other greats, Jamie started forming his own garage bands by the age of 14.

After finding hometown success with his first cover band, Lancelot in his high-school years, Jamie moved to Memphis at age 19 and immersed himself into the eclectic music scene gigging in numerous musical situations ranging from heavy metal to old-school Delta Blues. When he returned home in 1997, he was reunited with his former Lancelot bandmates forming the wildly popular band, Funnel.

After winning 100.1 WKQQ’s prestigious Decent Exposure contest, Funnel released their debut album, Wide Open, in May 1998 to widespread radio airplay. In the following years, Funnel shared the stage with numerous national acts including, Peter Frampton, Goo Goo Dolls, Candlebox, Drivin N’ Cryin, Third Eye Blind, and Dokken. Funnel played hundreds of shows throughout the region before disbanding in 2001.

After Funnel, Jamie spent several years in the critically acclaimed Wheelhorse in support of their album, Victrola For Sale. In the mid 2000’s, Jamie joined one of Central Kentucky’s busiest and most popular gigging alt-country/Americana bands, The Eric Cummins Band. After two successful albums, Mountain and Brand New Heartache, and the support cycles for those albums over the following 8 years, Jamie is one of the most-often heard and seen drummers in the state of Kentucky.

A self-described, “Meat and Potatoes” drummer, Jamie is capable of playing any style of music with comfort and grace. His interest is to simply play his chosen instrument as often as possible.

Jamie is available for session work ranging from radio jingles, single song demos, to full album and support cycles. He is also available for one-off gigs within the Southeast and Midwest with appropriate notice.

He resides in Georgetown, KY with his wife and daughter.
