ABOUT

Music has always been a passion and a huge part of my life. I remember wanting to play guitar since I was three year olds. Once I reached second grade, my parents bought me my first guitar and signed me up for lessons with a gentleman by the name of Mr. Cloutier at the local record shop, Southbridge Music; $3 a half hour lesson. After a few years of bangin' around on the small scale nylon string, I longed to sound like the guitarists on the albums I discovered in the bins; KISS and Queen being a couple of my earliest influences. When I started Jr. High, the best thing that happened to me there was meeting my art teacher Mr. Chase, who introduced me to distortion and the world of electric guitar. Once I discovered Van Halen and Black Sabbath it was all over for me! I quickly switched guitar teachers, started upgrading my gear and started learning about bar chords and blues scales. I also explored classical and jazz guitar later in high school, inspired by mix tapes the school librarian would make for me. I ended up going to music school to study the recording arts and continued my jazz guitar studies while playing in rock bands at night. That's where I met up with my life time musician buds, formed an original band and played the Boston early 90's original rock scene; The Channel, Axis, Edible Rex, The Rockpile, Derringers, etc. We still write and record when we can, but I've turned my focus to live performance. I've actively been playing in pro working cover bands for the last 10 years. The current band I'm in is Stomping Melvin, a high energy dance-rock band performing around New England.
