Daddy was a preacher, Mama his pianist/organist who put me, her 3rd son, on the podium singing solos from the time I was about 6 years old. I took 2 years of actual Piano lessons, played percussion in 5th grade Band, Trumpet in 6th grade Band, returned to self-teaching Piano when I got braces in 8th grade. That year, I started taking voice lessons and sang in Choirs into my Freshman year in College. Sang/played in College Jazz band third year there, sang and won contests/awards in the US Army, including in Korea and at Ft Carson. Started a couple of Christian Bands here 30 years ago, but moved to GA after a few years. In my 40s, I had the startling revelation that I’m a Switchfoot Drummer & I started playing Guitar. Strongest on Vocals, followed by Keys, Drums, Guitar and Trumpet - don’t really consider myself an “Expert” on anything but haven’t yet figured out how to edit my first tragic pass with creating a Profile here - LOL! Currently, I’m a full time Student at UCCS, studying Digital Filmmaking with a minor in Music Technology.

Influences
So many that it’s hard to list them properly, but I think putting a few per instrument is a good idea so:
Vocally - Russ Taff, Ronnie Van Zant, Greg Allman, David Clayton Thomas, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Lou Graham, Three Dog Night, Michael McDonald, Bob Seger, Al Jarreau and many MANY more that I shouldn’t be leaving out, including a ton of Females
Keys - Billy Powell, Chuck Leavell, Greg Allman, Billy Preston, Benmont Tench, Rick Wakeman, Tony Banks, John Lord, Ken Hensley, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Lyle Mays, Michel Petrucianni, Jordan Rudess
Drums - Billy Cobham, Steve Gadd, Neil Peart, Phil Collins, Antonio Sanchez, Dave Weckl, Peter Erskine, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Chester Thompson, Lenny White, Tony Williams and a whole bunch more
And I’ll have to do the other instruments later …
