Looking to start a music project/ band. I'd like to get together with some folks around my age (36). I've been playing guitar for 18 years. Never really played in groups except high school and grade school concert bands. Been around music a long time. I am intent on getting into the creative side of the music scene. I have a steady full-time job, unmarried, no children, and would like to live my dream.
I have a tentative title in the works. Also have a lot of lyrical material floating around (also have 4 or 5 songs ready for ideas other than my vocals and guitar). I only need the people and the space. Male, female, I don't care. You don't have to be pro; I certainly am not.
I am looking at a heavy acoustic, borderline hard rock vibe with some orchestral elements, dashed with various styles ranging from ambient to industrial, classical to heavy metal.
Think along the realms of Days of the New, and VAST.

Influences
Influences are as follows but not necessarily in this order:
Days of the New, VAST, Pink Floyd, Blackmore's Night, Enigma, Metallica, Megadeth, Type O Negative and KMFDM.
You can throw in a few of the classic rock bands as well. Stuff like Blue Oyster Cult.
On the obscure side of things, Haydn would be in there somewhere and the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo.
