ABOUT

In the mid 1960s thru early 1970s I was a professional musician. By age 15 I was playing jazz in clubs. Moving to blues-rock, I did lots of gigging in clubs and concerts and spent some time in Boston and NYC recording studios. I burned out on the FT road lifestyle in about 1973, and walked away from the biz, even though MCA Records was talking to our band (Clear Sky) about picking us up. Until a few years ago, music was there sitting behind my other visual-arts career.

Discovering "Playing For Change" a few years ago is sort of responsible for pulling me back into the music biz at 70+ years old. The idea of the world-wide collaboration and the technology that allows that to happen intrigued me greatly. As did the incredible quality of the music I was hearing from their efforts. I've been doing online studio-type collaboration work with others for a few years now.

My core interest is blues and blues-influenced rock, although a little contemporary country also tends to creep in. At the moment, I'm thinking of putting together a blues-oriented group of musicians to form a 'virtual band' for recording work, covers and originals. I might consider playing gigs live once again also.

I have spent some time in the past doing production and mixing work when everything was still full analog. I enjoy mixing work and have a decent small home studio setup to do so.

(Under instrument experience here I put "advanced" even though I've been playing a long time in diverse genre's. The idea of "expert" seems reserved for the 'best of the best'........... and I'm a bit 'past my sell by date'.)
