ABOUT

I have moved to Germany...so I am not as available as I previously was...

I am in my mid 40s, reasonably tall, salt-and-pepper hair, beard and mustache, blue/grey eyes. I've been playing in bands of various kinds for over 20 years, including oldies, classic rock, funk, and contemporary Christian.

I have been writing my own music since the early 80s - ballads, country, rock, and Christian stuff. I've got some limited arranging skills that could be further developed and utilized as well.

I studied music at the University of Northern Iowa and earned a minor in audio recording technology. I've run sound for numerous events and concerts, done live recording work, and have a small hobby studio.

I like to think that I am committed to whatever group I play in. In high school, I was in an oldies band for 2 years, plus marching and concert bands and choir. In college, I played in a wide variety of ensembles and sang in choir. I've done musical theater. I spent 4+ years in Faculty Lounge, an all-teacher funk band in Des Moines, playing trombone, bari sax, and keys and singing lead and backing vocals. These days, I fill in on bass, vocals, and horns as needed. Moving to the Twin Cities put me in Crosstown, a classic/dance rock band, as a keyboard player, rhythm guitarist, and singer (lead and backing vocals). Moving back to Iowa forced me to leave that group. I'm committed to CR for the long haul.

I work to build solid relationships in whatever band I am in.
