My main instrument is the concertina (not an option in instrument selection on bandmix), and my main genre is Irish music. My next instrument is the electric bass. The bass is where I am looking to expand my playing, either in a band or just jamming along with others.
I also play the accordion and mess around on the keyboard. I could pick up parts on those instruments as needed/wanted.
I am with my kids half the time, and I work full time, so even though I would want to be fully committed, time-wise, moderately committed seems more realistic. In the end, music is fun, and I love exploring new musical opportunities.

Influences
My interest in Irish music is heavily influenced by trad musicians in Chicago and Ireland. On the bass, I enjoy playing a wide variety of music, and bands I would cite among my influences are along the lines of The Police, Steely Dan, Dire Straits, U2, Depeche Mode, etc.

EQUIPMENT
Bass amp, and everything to run sound for a four or five person group, incl speakers, mics, cables, mic stands. Powerful enough for small venues.
