Born and raised in the county of Dade, KonCept is a quiet storm in the Miami hip hop scene. Originally of Haitian descent, he grew up being influenced by various forms of music. He actually hated rap music at first. "I actually grew up wanting to be a singer", says KonCept.
"I loved Michael Jackson, Donnell Jones, and Jon B. I even had the N*Sync album. It wasn't until I heard Bone Thugs n Harmony that I started becoming interested in anything rap related."
He came to embrace hip hop as hip hop came to embrace melody. Around 7th grade, he wrote his first rap, and by chance, started battling. From there, it was history.
