SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Experienced bassist looking for established, working Upstate band. I'm an old guy with a day job, based in Spartanburg, playing modern and classic rock, blues, soul, etc.-- Otis Redding to Zep to Black Crowes to SRV to Audioslave, with lots of other stuff in between, and beyond. Looking to play with an established *part-time* band, unburdened by egos or issues- if you're indulging your second childhood by putting your real life and family and job on the back burner to become a Middle Aged Rock And Roll Star, I'm not your guy- been there, seen that- it ain't pretty (regardless of *how* talented you are!). If your band plays local clubs small and large, festivals, parties, class reunions, and so on *part-time*, and HAS FUN doing it, I'd love to audition- maybe you'll like what you hear. Not fancy, not a soloist, just solid groove work. Limited vocals, rhythm guit, and drums/percussion too. Email to musicassurance-south for recent clips, or call 864-494-3026 and leave message. Thanx....

Influences
John Paul Jones, James Jamerson, Tony Levin, Allen Woody, Stanley Clarke, Tommy Shannon, etc... sort of all over the place, y'know. The tune posted here isn't really representative of anything-- it's just a surf instrumental I wrote and recorded a bunch of years ago, playing all the parts (the drums are programmed, of course). It went to #36 on the Soundclick "Surf Rock" chart, as if that really means anything...
EQUIPMENT
Very decent stage gear and instruments; fretted and fretless, 4- and 5- string. Also have small PA and ADAT studio.

There isn't a genre listing here for "surf", so... I wrote and recorded this about ten years ago, playing all the guitar and bass parts, and programming the drum machine.
