ABOUT

I have been playing percussion and drum set going on 20 years now. I was introduced to the djembe and played in and eventually started to lead drum circles when I was just 11. The drum set is my playground where I enter the flow state; it's a second language to me.

Influences

I grew up playing metal. Lamb of God, Metallica, Slipknot and many many more were my favorites to play along to. Joey Jordison, the drummer from Slipknot, had the play style that originally inspired me to play metal style and start learning helicopter rudiments.
I was in marching band, jazz band, and concert band throughout high school. After high school, I got into the jam band scene and started to really really like to play jazzy/funky improv. Lotus, Sound tribe sector 9, Umphreys Mcgee, Phish, all quickly became staples and I was inspired to learn how to increase my playing time so that I could jam out on 1 song for upwards of an hour if I wanted.
