I'm very new to Chicago and came here with the sole intention of putting a band together. I have over 20 original songs written, I do not write or read music, so, I would need musicians who can, and who are serious about what they do...but also love it. My musical influences are broad...I grew up in the 80's, and I feel that at one point..they actually got music right...it was like the entire world was influencing each other..not just musically, but politically as well. The entire world was open to new music...regardless of where it came from...and that's one of the things I think music is missing now. I can't say that my songs fit neatly into one genre of Rock..and I don't think that they should...so I'm looking for musicians who have a wide range of influences..60's, 70's, 80's, 90's to present...Punk, Reggae, Grunge, Hip-Hop, Jazz, New Wave, Classic Rock...My songs come from all of these influences. I'm looking for bass, guitars(lead and rhythm,) Keys, and drums..artists who are not afraid to not quite fit in a box...figured I'd put it out there...has to be someone else out here like me....if you're interested in helping me put this together, or know of anyone who would be...message me.
