SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Hello. I am a 54 year-old classically trained drummer from South West Florida.
I started playing drums when I was 8. I began in the elementary school band on the snare drum, progressing through concert, marching and jazz bands.
I now play mostly rock drum kit, blues, soul, Motown and some funk and smoother jazz. Very good and experienced in the Singer-Songwriter genre as well, especially as a percussionist.
I have lots of good equipment, solid transportation, supportive spouse and a good day job.
I can be contacted via email at one45drummie at yaho o dot com. Or visit my website at MikePlaysDrums dot com.

Influences
I listen to, play and enjoy many different types of music, but generally prefer rock and blues. Smooth jazz on Sunday mornings. Not a big fan of either modern country or hip-hop.
The big influential drummers to me are the typical classic rock masters: John Bonham, Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts and Mitch Mitchell.

EQUIPMENT
I play (mostly) Ludwig USA drum kits and snares, Zildjian Cymbals, Remo Heads and DW Hardware and Pedals.
I own three drum kits, way too many snare drums and a good collection of cymbals.
I have an extensive selection of hand drums and percussion instruments including congas, roto toms, djembes, chimes, bells, blocks and many other cool noise makers. I have a fully equipped home drum recording studio with a 16 channel Tascam interface and MacBook Pro for my DAW and a full PA, with powered sub-woofer, vocal mics, drum mics, monitors, and mixer as well as all required cables and stands. I also have quite a bit of LED stage lighting.
