Our Band MJ&ROB and MJSA are a Variety Duo, Trio up to a 8 piece Show Band. Band has agency representation. We have performed and recorded with notable legends from; Motown's Mr. Tony Newton who is both our dearest friend and mentor. He was James Jamersons understudy, and took over when James departed from Motown, Producer and Director for Smokey Robinson. R&B,Smooth Jazz,Rock&Roll Legends, and are dear and personal friends of ours. We have original songs that we are going to perform this year. They are licensed and published by BMI ASCAP,Song Writers Guild.

What we are looking for are musicians who can sing a little backup,and lead.

Electronic Drums or small drums with triggers but use real cymbals live.

Saxophone Trumpet.

We are in the 21 century Not interested in big drums over 22"x14" drums. Just a small jazz kit.3 or 4 piece with 2 cymbals and hat is all thats needed or Roland V-drums.

You must know how to play:
Classic R&B (1970's), not easy 60's R&B)
Versed in Contemporary Smooth Jazz,and Pop Music.

You must know how to groove and apply dynamics according to the music.
Able to read chord charts,or read music, have a good ear, and great timing. Guitarist must use old school standard tuning A442, not A440, and improvise when needed.

Band has upcoming performances. Need to rehearse material no exceptions. Classic R&B is challenging. Has modulation key changes,jazz chords,strings.
