I have been playing drums and making music since I was thirteen years old. I got my start playing in high school jazz band, marching band, and wind ensemble, then went from there. With my childhood friend and the person with whom I shared a love for experimental music, Chris Walla, I became a member of the band Death Cab for Cutie, touring with them, and playing on their earliest albums and singles. With their sister band The Revolutionary Hydra, which shares a few of its members with Death Cab, I contributed drums to several albums, and also played live shows with them. Although a passion of mine over the last ten years has been teaching high school English, I've managed to always make music with friends, such as playing on the first solo album by Sean Nelson (ex-Harvey Danger), "Make Good Choices" released in 2013. I offer rich and textured beats to your music, and bring to the table industry connections and plenty of live and recording studio experience. Regularly playing live shows and making albums with an indie band again is my top goal. If you live in the North Bay area and are interested in getting a band of like-minded musical craftspeople together, or if your band needs a positive-minded drummer to add the right rhythmic touches and textures to your melodies, please call or e-mail me.
