"I used to be punk rock"
I've been playing for about 35 years. I started on an acoustic, then moved to bass guitar and electric in college. There, I was in a couple garage bands (punk / ska) and we played a handful of bars and parties. We were not great.
Since then, i've actually learned how to play correctly. No lessons, no music theory- just practice and a good ear. I'm not much of a lead but I can play a rock solid rhythm and vocals can be retrained. I don't mind playing bass either.
