ABOUT

The concept is born in Tijuana in 2006, after two of its members, Jesus (guitar and vocals) and Victor (drums, vocals) meet after having shared the stage for several years. In this innovative project adheres later Luis (bass) an Manuel (saxophone) to create a new style called "The Califas Style", a mixture of Ska / Reggae / Punk / Alternative with the distinctive touch of what is now Palos Verdes.

They have performed in various important local music festivals in Tijuana as FestiArte 2009 (2010 and 11), Entijuanarte 2009 (and 2010), Hard Rock Cafe, El Foro, Box Underground, Plaza Monumental, Berlin Bar, just to name a few.

In 2011, they released their first album named "Tj Califas Style". And since then it has been a local success in Tijuana. People recognize them and think they are succeeding based on hard work, effort and dedication. They are actually in recording sessions of their second album "Tj Califas Style vol.2" that would be released on june 2015

Palos Verdes has performed in music festivals and local bars in Mexico D.F, LOS ANGELES.CA, RIVERSIDE, SAN FRANCISCO, YUMA AZ, SAN DIEGO, Mexicali, Tecate, Ensenada and Rosarito Beach.

Influences

Their music is mainly influenced by Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, among many others and have had the chance to step on stage opening concerts for artists such as Anti-Doping, Manu Chao, Los Cafres, Gondwana, Cultura Profetica, The Skatalites and more others.
