ABOUT

Guitarist who has lived and played in San Francisco, Los Angeles CA for years now. Now that my parents are getting older I’m thinking of moving back home to be near them. I would still love to be able to play. I don’t mind playing a cover but I don’t want to be in a cover/tribute band. A band should have its own material. I realize I have a pretty strong opinion on how things should be done and what looks and sounds cool and I realize I’m not going to be in my backyard anymore so what’s cool and goes over there might be different from here. I do know this. You play real rock n roll and you do it with as much sincerity and enthusiasm as possible the people will responde

Influences

I’m into 60’s soundingEnglish MOD, Freakbeat and Americana garage, punk rock n roll. Check out the Nuggets box sets to get what I’m after. I also like shoegaze and 80’s bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream and other Creation label bands. I love the stones. I love hard psychedelic music like 13th Floor Elevators. I love Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I like surf/rockabilly like Rev. Horton Heat. I love modern psychedelic like Brian Jonestown massacre, Spacemen 3.
I realize this may sound different than most other musicians around here but I’ve got a vision in my head that I think would get a lot of attention. With that said I want it to be a band with everyone having an equal say. You will never hear me say with is my band or this is “someone’s” band. It should be our band. What I could do in California I feel like I could do with the right people hear. I’ve got the space I would like to turn into our personal rehearsal space and recording studio. The room is there to do it. Anyway anyone interested than the same old bullsh*t then email me. jonpidock
