I need one melody player to fill a 2 weekend gig.
Performance dates are Sept 30, October 1, 7 and 8. We will be playing as a 3 piece.
Pay for the 2 weekends is $1200 per performer.
Four 30 minute shows a day plus one song at the end of the day at a pub sing.
This gig is in Maryland. It is at a renaissance festival. That means that ren fair garb is required. I have loaner outfits.
Player is welcome to ride with me out to Maryland from Michigan and back. I will be leaving on September 26, to give us time to rehearse with the guitarist coming from New York.
We will be camping in the participant camping area at the fair. There are good bathrooms and showers in the campground. The site is literally 4 miles from Annapolis and about a 30-45ish minute drive to DC and Baltimore.
The music is NOT "easy" - some odd rhythms, modulations, breaks, tempo and rhythm changes. Up to 20 songs in current set list, none in English.
I will be available to rehearse with a Michigan based player on weekdays or weeknights only, except for Friday nights. I will be out of town for the first 2 weeks of August.
I play Hurdy Gurdy, Harmonium, and do lead vocals.
Instruments must be acoustic with a pickup. We'll be playing on a stage for a large audience and need to amp. But it's a ren fair, so electric guitars or similar won't be acceptable to the management at the venue.
If it's a good fit, performance opportunities in the Midwest may be available this winter and more frequently starting next spring.
