ABOUT

Okay, so right now, I'm playing bass and singing back-up in a folk(ish) cover band. I'm looking for a second band to either help form or slide into. Genre is flexible, I like folk stuff and also more modern stuff with foundational synthesizer arrangements. Or good ole classic rock. Or, better yet, how about something new that is hard to define exactly?

Honestly, at this point, I'm more interested in finding musicians with a similar outlook and personality than the most talented ppl on the planet. Reliability, honesty, moderation in partying (if you do), etc. I've had a drunk drummer knock a kit apart onstage and at that point I got a better perspective on selecting bandmates ;)

I am a multi-instrumentalist, but what I've really liked doing most has been arranging vocal harmonies. I can sing some low bass parts yet my range extends well into the falsetto range, which has helped me sing background vocals of many genres. Basically I like to do everything I can to make everyone else sound/look better.

Influences

Diverse. Name a genre or an era, I can starting listing influences. I more like aspects or individual songs, or maybe albums, rather than EVERYTHING a particular group or person does. While I occasionally will listen to something jazz or metal, I'm not well-suited to those genres as a player. But to an extent I think all genres are interchangeable, and can inform one another as hybridizations, if that makes sense.

EQUIPMENT

I have plenty of equipment. As a bassist I have a nice 5-string so I can back up singers in any key. If other equipment is needed I may surprise you with something unexpected. I've got an arsenal.
