ABOUT

I'd like to find others who are like - minded about music. I play because I must. I started out in fourth grade playing coronet. Marching Band and orchrstra. I ended up with a guitar cuz there wasn't a big demand for brass in the 80's. I stumbled into the instrument i was meant to play. I've played my acoustic religiously for most of my life, but i do love to rock. I have giggable equipment, but what i'm looking for is just a couple of people who love to play. I'm ok with jamming in the garage if it's good ;}

Influences

I'm a child of the 60's so my tastes range from Grateful Dead to CCR. David Gilmore and Roger Waters were big for me. I was into Rush early on, but the band that turned me into a rocker was Boston. Other influences who were very big were Buddy Holly, Glen Miller, Steve Miller, Joe Walsh, the Beatles, of course, and i was a Floyd freak and even delved into progrock with Alan Parsons. There's so much more but, yawn :P

EQUIPMENT

I've owned some very nice guitars. At present, i have a very sweet Epiphone Heritage Cherry LP Standard. It's about 12 years old and must have been part of an exceptional batch cuz it's really good. I had 2 Gibsons stolen so i quit buying them. I have my sweetheart, an Ibanez Artwood Acoustic that's also about 12 years old and i have yet to find one that plays nicer. None. I have a 120 watt Crate that works nicely. I'd prefer a tube amp but I'm a poor old fart, ya know?
