We're looking for a bassist who is energetic and open to new things to play in a club-oriented cover band. This will be a high-energy show, well structured without a break in between every song to gather your thoughts. This is ENTERTAINMENT so leave your impress - the -other - musicians - ego at home. All we care about is ass on the floor, and lots of it. I sang and played guitar in 'Thrillsville' (80's pop covers)for most of the last several years (we had 2 runs over 7 years) and know how to put together a class act that isn't like every other bar band. The drummer plays in a very successful Galesburg - based hard rock band 'Concrete' and is the real deal. We don't want to screw around with someone that can't either accept criticism / suggestions, OR professionally criticize one of us. Having played STRICTLY dance music for eons now, I want to put together a raw, 3-piece, upbeat, aggressive BUT DANCEABLE rock band to do covers of everything from Maroon 5 and Fallout Boy, Neil Diamond to Elton John, from Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, to 'Me First and the Gimme Gimmes' in a stripped down way. There are several songs here from the 80s and 90s (though I'm a bit tapped out on retro 80s). There is a large market here for someone willing to let go of being a Rockstar. This drummer and I have already done this successfully before as a side project but didn't have schedule space for it in the end scheme. Now, we're looking at 2 full weekends a month to start out, and full time every weekend down the road. We have ties to some very good area gigs,outside shows, and maybe even some opening slots. Most of all, we want to have a sh*tload of fun while we knock down these dollars. We have enough PA to cover small shows ourselves, and a sound / light company to do anything else (or anything they're not already booked for).
