ABOUT

Our new ORIGINAL alt-country/American band is seeking a lead guitarist or multi-instrumentalist.

ABOUT US
We've been practicing together for a few months now. We haven't scheduled any gigs yet (slowed down by some turnover in the lineup), but we've got four really cool, talented guys and a small but growing catalog of good songs (mostly originals with the occasional cover sprinkled in).

We don't play modern, pop country. We're more into stuff like Old 97's, Whiskeytown and Wilco.

We practice once a week in Wharton (usually Wednesdays, but we try to be flexible). We're looking to play maybe 8-10 shows a year, nothing crazy. Would also love to record at some point down the road.

Our vision is to be a fun, energetic live band with mostly upbeat songs. We're country at heart but with a rock-n-roll spirit.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A LEAD GUITARIST
First of all, you won't be the only lead guitarist in the band. We have a multi-instrumentalist who plays lead guitar, pedal steel and pretty much anything else with strings on it. We love the idea of mixing up our instrumentation. Maybe there are some songs where you'd both be playing electric guitar, but other times we'd have a lead guitar and pedal steel (or some other instrument) going.

If you play anything else that fits into country – pedal steel, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, keys, whatever – that's a plus. But if you're strictly a lead guitar player, that's not necessarily a deal-breaker.

Background vocals are a must. You don't have to be great at it, just adequate.

Looking for someone 30-50 years old.

SOME OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO GET OUT OF THE WAY
We're not expecting to make a ton of money at this. (We hope we do, but we make no promises!) So if money is a priority for you, we're probably not the band for you. We're more about CREATING music and having some fun along the way.

Please don't respond if you're not 100% sure you have the time to commit to this.

You would be expected to contribute to the cost of the rehearsal studio. (Basically, you'd pick up the $50 tab once every five practices.) Hoping down the road that we can put some of our gig money toward this, but this is how it is at least for now.

If our band sounds like something you might be interested in, please DM me.
