I am currently in a Winchester based band called Flashpoint. You can see our website at www.secondtimearoundonline.com (I am the one who made our site.) We are in the process of disbanding. We have one more engagement on Oct 4th. We had an agreement that we would not play in bars. (Personally I am not opposed to playing bars) We held out for higher paying gigs at fairs and festivals as well as private parties. For this reason most of our work was in the summer.
I am not a flashy bass player. Other people describe my playing as "smooth". Not sure what that means, but that is the term I hear the most. I can do backing vocals but have never done any lead.
I enjoy playing all styles of music, but prefer southern rock to modern rock. Currently my favorite band is Cross Canadian Ragweed.
I am looking for a project that would include classic rock, southern rock, modern rock, some country, and some oldies. (Throw some metal and bluegrass in there and it would be a true Variety band!)
I am interested in playing medleys of songs as well as kicking up some old songs to give them a modern edge. Chris Cornell's cover of Billy Jean, and the Atari's cover of Boys of Summer come to mind. I am also very interested in working on original material.
If anyone out there from the Winchester to Martinsburg area likes the same shoot me an email and lets jam.
