Long time drummer and lead/harmony vocalist looking to start or join a local band. Prefer a balance of more popular material and mid/deeper cuts.
Hoping to create or join a very tight, high energy band with players who enjoy and are capable of learning new material and have broad musical tastes. Lead and/or backing vocals for all band members would be ideal.
To give you an idea of how broad my tastes are (and how flexible I am with material), I am highly enthusiastic about any of the following………or anything similar to the following:
• Beatles and almost any British Invasion music in all its forms (Pop, Psych, British Blues)
• 70s-90s Powerpop (Badfinger, Big Star, Cheap Trick, The Knack, Todd Rundgren, Plimsouls, Tom Petty, Lemonheads, Teenage Fanclub, Matthew Sweet…..love this hooky, melodic, sometimes jangly, tight harmony genre)
• Garage (from 60s to today’s stuff……Kingsmen/Sonics/Standells/Zombies to the Romantics to Strokes/Greenhornes/Murlocs). Ton’s of great up-tempo, catchy, interesting garage music to choose from.
• 60s-70s soul music (Important to have songs that groove in the set list)
• 80s guitar and New Wave bands like Elvis Costello, Police,The Jam, The Clash, Pretenders, Echo and the Bunnymen, Hoodoo Gurus
• Name any great Americana (the Band, Son Volt, Wilco, etc) and Post-80s indie bands (too many to list) and I’d be happy playing their stuff. I’d like to stay away from metal and “same old same old classic rock” material.
