I'm trying to start a band that covers songs from an era that no one is currently doing. I want to cover songs from the original glam rock (no dressing up or make up) which is Ziggy Stardust and other Bowie songs, Mott the Hoople, T. Rex, Brian Eno, etc.
I'm 51 and haven't found the right combination (we musicians are terribly flaky).
I'm going to assume we're all going to be a little older, not trying to make it big...just have fun learning and playing the songs. Rehearsal, maybe once a week...we should all come prepared so we're not learning the progressions and wasting time. Since I'd like to practice once a week...I'd like to gig once or twice a month as it fits in with all of our lifestyles.
Let me know if you are interested. I play guitar but would love another guitar. Even though we're not wearing makeup and feather boas, the singer will have to have that swagger. Here's a current band covering Moonage Daydream and he's really selling it. Not too much, but has the confidence to sing those lyrics.
As of now, I'm the only one...but will update what parts we need to fill as it gets going
