I am Sylvester but everyone calls me Sly. I have been playing music since I was 7 and was in the elementary marching band. Where I played the drums. My main instrument is the trumpet. I started playing that when I was 11 in the 6th grade band. I have been playing trumpet for 22 years now and professionally for 8 years. Through my journey I have picked up other instruments and learn vocals. I can read and sight read really well and have experience playing in big bands and small groups. I hope to play with or for you soon!

Influences
I have a lot of influences from my middle school band director Mrs. Harris to my high school director Mr. Lambert. Mr.Lambert taught me jazz and to stay determined on being the best. I had trumpet lessons for 6 years. From mr. Guzman and Mr. Manzi. Another strong influence is my uncle red who passed away when I was 10. He went to all my music concerts and drove me to follow my passions no matter what.
As far as trumpeters: Miles Davis, Arturo Sandoval, and Maynard Ferguson.
