ABOUT

Background:

I grew up in upstate New York, about 20 miles east of Rochester. I attended public school, then attended a couple years of college at a couple local area community colleges. After realizing that I really didn't know what the hell I wanted to do, and burning up all the $$ in my student loan, I signed up with the US Army. They taught me a skill (besides how to get out of doing sh*t!! :)). Uncle Sam launched me down the electrical engineering path. After the military Intel Corp hired me where I worked for next 23 years! I left Intel a couple of years ago and started working for a Dutch firm called ASML. They are my present employer. I'm a service engineer working a compressed work week for Intel.

Musical experiences:

I started my musical journey by learning Classical and Jazz music, with emphasis on percussion in the public school system. I had the opportunity to play every type of percussive instrument available as well as participating in the concert, marching and jazz bands. I was also very fortunate to receive private instruction (Drum set) from several very talented local musicians. After high school, during college and the military I really didn't jam/practice much with other musicians. It wasn?t until the end of my military duty, approx. 5-6 years later when I bought my first drum set (with my own $$). I believe that was 1985-1986 timeframe. I started playing cover tunes like: Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Montrose, Cream + a variety of other artists with similar styles with a couple barracks buddies in the supply building. We were a 3 piece, and we really sucked! After my ETS from active military service, while with for Intel. I worked at Fab 1 which was located in the Bay Area (South Bay) where I started immediately started meeting one amazing musician after the next. The love the Bay Area?s passion for live music!! I played with three different bands over the next 4-5 years. I played Classic Rock, Lounge Funk and Blues music with a lot of crazy cats up and down the Peninsula pretty much like a second job. Intel?s Fab shut down in the early 90?s, so I transferred my wife (at the time) and I to the Portland area to work in Intel?s Aloha factory. Again almost immediately I starting meeting musicians, but this time they were Intel musicians! Who da thunk it!! I?ve been playing steady for the last 20 years in a variety of bands, no big names, just a lot of very talented musicians trapped in real jobs with families to support. I?m not saying families are traps!

Goal:

For the past 20 + years I've been searching for musicians that have the right chemistry, when joined create the sound that the world is crying for! Who know what the hell that is, but when it happens there won't be any questions!! I?ve been in: Garage, Original only, Cover only, Jam and Tribute bands. Now I'm a late 40's divorced professional who is tired of the set schedule sh*t. I've always dreamed of creating that sound for the masses (Original or Cover? hard to say), then hop on a tour bus and spread the word!! I've developed a steady groove over the years. I am very familiar with time, tempo and dynamics. Bonus: Lots of soul and personality!

EQUIPMENT

I own three drum sets. Two acoustic, one electric. My gig kit is a Yamaha Absolute Maple, 6 piece w/ cherry wood finish. I also have 6 piece Premier kit. My electric is a Roland Pro-V kit, I use a Peavey 350W keyboard amp to drive the sound. I also have a grip of percussive gear. Really I'm a acoustic drummer... the electric kit is primary for practice.
