Hi I'm Ruslan (or Russ), moved to the Bay two years ago from Chicago, originally from Kazakhstan - looking for likeminded musicians and artists for collaborations, projects, friendships, loves and stories of change.
Keep going if you like reading bios: for some reason I treat this one very seriously and this one is quite long and honest.
I've played music since I was very young, now I'm 26. My main instrument is guitar either electric, acoustic, lead or rhythm, for me it's really not distinguishable. I also play bass, drums, keys, percussion and sing main voice and back vocals all on different levels of mastery, but something can definitely come out of each. For me it's more important feel what and how you're doing and be confident in contributing 'cause it's the fastest and most enjoyable way to learn.
I respect all art forms and always link visual, tactile, dance and other experiences to music. Musically I lean towards experimental approach induced by the experience of the so-called flow state, sublime, meditation, other names. I think the chemistry between people making music together is as important as what comes out as a result. I would say it definitely is a part of the result.
Other than that: I view music writing similar to as how sculptor views space. I enjoy weird sounds, weird chord progressions, weird harmony. When I don't enjoy novelty in weirdness I enjoy coming back to the roots of pure rhythm and melody - simple tribal trance type of music.
Personality wise I'd say I have a good balance between being super attentive to detail and being the let go kind of guy.
