BIOGRAPHY
Early Years
David Bruce is a guitarist, singer, songwriter born in Los Angeles, California. In his early career,
David spent several years performing on the Sunset Strip in the mid ’80s during the height of
the Los Angeles pop metal music scene and shared venues with the likes of LA Guns, Ratt and
Dokken. David’s band “Nightwatch” spent two years as the original music house band at
Hollywood’s Gazzarri’s; a club recently recreated for the Tom Cruise’s movie “Rock of Ages”
[2012]. David studied guitar for several years with Rusty Anderson; guitarist for Paul
McCartney’s band [since 2001] and, at A&M studios LA, recorded Magic Moreno; who
engineered successful albums by Eric Clapton, Barbara Streisand, and David Lee Roth at A&M
studio in Los Angeles. In his final days in LA, David works with “Menno”; a hip-hop engineer
known for his loops and credited on Blink 182’s fifth album, “Untitled”. Due to other
professional commitments, David moved to Lexington, KY where he started the original
“Handsome Devils” [cover band, 2004-2007] which had a successful run in Lexington, KY clubs/venues; amounting to almost 300 shows.
2015
David has returned to his roots of original song writing and producing. David’s solo debut
album, “David Bruce & Funkestra- Collide” features several prominent KY musicians. David has moved to Florida where he's ready to work with dedicated musicians and rock stages all over again.
