ABOUT

I've been playing guitar for decades. I'm mainly a blues player but I have many other musical interests and influences. I love some Baroque music, some old Celtic, some J.S. Bach and Chopin. I like transposing Jr. Walker phrases to electric guitar. I have a default sound like Clapton used in 1968 on his studio version of Born Under a Bad Sign or with Mayall's Bluesbreakers. I like combining acoustic and electric instruments. I am melody based.

EQUIPMENT

I use an all tube deluxe reverb and I have a tube Fender Super Champ X2 for modeling. I sold my Twin and old Bandmaster because they're too heavy and I don't need that power with mics and PA's. I use a secondary preamp to push my amps to a light musical breakup. Some go-to pedals are an Origin Effects Cali76 for stacked compression, a Greer Lightspeed, A Marshal OD, a single Boss GE7 EQ. I prefer fender guitars to Gibson with the exception of the ES-335. I mainly use an American Standard Tele with 2 Lollar imperial Humbuckers that I wired for series and parallel. I love finger style acoustic but it isn't my strong suit.
