ABOUT

The Belle Weather is a concert band. Whether performing acoustically at the local coffee house or plugging in on the biggest festival stages, every show is crafted to be a sonic experience like none other. We?ve built our reputation on bringing a great deal more than just our collection of songs to the stage each night ? audiences demand more these days. In order to compete as an original band, we?ve learned that we must give people something they crave more than songs they already know? We give them a band they can believe in, create an atmosphere that defies the confines of the daily grind, and offer an experience they can dive into and feel a part of. Audiences demand this kind of passion and honesty ? and we possess these most essential elements in spades.

Honesty and passion can only take a band so far... At some point, people have to be able to define your original sound to stay invested. We call ours ?Gypsy Rock" - which is to say, we borrow from many diverse influences. The band is equal parts modern folk and alternative rock. We are British, Irish, and American. We are a fusion of u2-inspired anthems and the simple storytelling of artists such as Ray LaMontagne, Neil Young, and Damien Rice. We take to the stage with the gritty, sweat-drenched passion of artists like Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen while polishing just enough of the rough edges to achieve the sonic grace of Jeff Buckley or The Swell Season.

In the end, we have taken these great many influences and blended them into a sound that is uniquely our own. Over the course of five years - first as Icarus/Drifting and now as The Belle Weather - we have garnered a reputation as one of the most unique, powerful, passionate, and polished bands in the region. With each new song we continue to explore and evolve - invoking styles that range from raw, powerful grunge rock through intricate acoustic folk and lush soundscapes. Soaring melodies emerge from the urgent sounds of guitar, bass, and drums. Impassioned, soulful vocals whisper, roar, haunt, and illuminate ? leading the audience through a spectrum of emotions that extends from heartache through exuberance and ecstasy. Audiences demand more these days, after all. When they come to see us, they get more than a ?gig.? Every night is an experience.
