[These instrumental tracks are demos I put together at my apartment. The new musicians are not on these recordings. These are just meant to give you an idea of the pace and style of the music. The videos at the left of the page include vocals, and can show you the catchyness of the pop melodies written.]

"The Refugees" are looking for a male or female pop/rock piano/keyboard player to play mostly original songs. The ability to write songs is not required, but will be utilized if available. The keys on these tracks are very simple and can be played by anyone with a moderate playing level. Newly written songs can be as simple or intricate as he or she would like to make them since they will have control of the piano composition. The project will be mellow in general with a jazz drummer and upright bassist, with two acoustic guitars.
This is a good chance to be an artist. Most piano parts havn't been written yet, so you can write all of your own parts (and even re-write that parts that have been written already). You will have a big say in the final sound of the band.
The music is written in the style of Tom Petty/ John Fogerty. The recorded tracks have a singer-songwriter feel to them because of the instruments used (acoustic guitar, bass, drums, piano, and keyboard).

I will send tracks to anyone interested. I tryout will just consist of playing the piano/keyboard to one of those songs.

So far, everyone involved with this project are in their mid-20s to mid-30s, but age is of no concern when choosing a piano player.
