ABOUT

Heath is a guitarist/songwriter/singer from Oklahoma. On April 1st, 2005 Heath pulled into Nashville and set up shop. His shop needed a lot of work he quickly realized. The first time Heath ever sit-in in Nashville it was suggestion that he go back to Oklahoma and try again in about five years. Through his first year in Nashville he would hear that at least 3 more times.
Six year later Heath has played for multiple acts including Anthony Orio, Lee Farrel, Jarrod Ashley, Rain, Stony Run, Leland Williams and Derryl Perry. From in town playing for countless artists and also fronting his own band in his spare time doing gigs at Tootsies, Second Fiddle, Crossroads, and Paradise Park, all the way to heavy touring. Also an aspiring writer, Heath is always looking for co-writes. Also currently seeking a publishing deal or a cut. His most recent milestone, Derryl Perry’s two CD project Love & Adrenaline and Rowdy, being released mid April. The album was recorded in Station West Studio in Berry Hill with Luke Wooten who mixed Dirks Bentley’s first platinum album. Adam Stewart, Clark “CJ” James, Bryan Butts, Kevin Key, and Heath played as the consistent five piece band while guest players like Russ Paul and Reese Wynans came to add their own special flavors on certain songs. Tracks off of this album are already receiving attention from songwriters and label executives alike.
Heath is currently living in Nashville right at the end of music row and tours with Derryl Perry. Visit .derrylperry for tour dates and other artist info. Heath is always looking for new opportunities so feel free to contact him. Find him at ./thegeetargawd and ./heatheslinger

EQUIPMENT

I am proud to say that have endorsement deals with Peavey and Visual Sound. I play a 1984 Peavey Encore 65(its all tube) and a 3rd generation Bandit 112 (that has been modified) in stereo as my main rig. My pedal board includes the Double Trouble which is a dual overdrive pedal, the Route 66 Compressor/Overdrive, the Visual Volume which is one of the coolest additions I've ever made to my rig. Also in my board is a Crybaby wah, a line 6 m4 modulation modeler, and a boss DD20 giga delay. The Telecaster that you see in all my photos is custom built to my specs by Mr. Ed Beaver. His shop is located in sound check in Nashville, tn. Needless to say my rig sounds incredible and there is absolutely no style or genre that I can't replicate. As a side note I would like to add that my rig is very quiet in comparison to other rigs. From the pedals to the pickups in my guitar, I have made it a point to have a low hum rig(this is because I play at tootsies in Nashville and they have some of the worst power I've ever seen.. Single coils and compressors to not fair well there).
I can play anything I take the time to sit down and learn. I sing lead and harmony/background vocals, both third and fifths. I have about 45 songs that I sing. Just about enough to front a gig on Broadway. I would like at least one week to prepare for major auditions or first time gigs. This is the only way I can guarantee your satisfaction. From playing downtown so much I really cant tell you how many songs I know but it is a bunch.
