I'm a drummer/vocalist who has been playing in one kind of band or another for over 35 years. I grew up on 60s and 70s music but have also played tons of 80s and 90s tunes. Basically, whatever gets people up and dancing. I've also played R&B, done a bit of Nashville studio work, and moved to Atlanta two years ago. When I moved here, I was fortunate enough to almost immediately join an established blues band that's been around for 20 years and was a staple at venues like Fat Matt's, Tucker Brewery, the Olde Courthouse Tavern, Moonshadows, etc. Recently however, the band's music director/leader decided he wanted to take a break from performing so I'm looking for a new musical family. Either an established band or dedicated players who want to start a new one. I'm certainly happy to jam but am really looking for people who want to get out there and play a couple times a month. I've been in trios, quartets and bands that had up to seven players, so I'm very adaptable. I don't drink, smoke, and bring professionalism, enthusiasm and kindness to the table.
I enjoy being in bands that offer vocal variety. Being a drummer, I'm certainly no front person, but I can add vocal texture doing both backups and the occasional lead. Songs I've sung lead on include "Statesboro Blues," "Keep Your Hands To Yourself," "Badge," "Soul Man," and others.
